Release Date: December 5, 2022
DHS has indicated that it will delay the full implementation of the REAL ID act until May 2025. This has major implications for domestic travel and will still allow individuals with non-enhanced Washington driver’s licenses to pass through airport security on domestic flights. This provides a huge relief to undocumented individuals who currently have very limited options for obtaining a REAL ID act compliant identity document.
